Dallas, TX – Berry Corporation (bry) (NASDAQ: BRY) has been named a finalist for the 2021 National Safety Council (NSC) Green Cross Safety Award in the Excellence category. The NSC awards recognize outstanding projects and organizations working to support its mission to save lives and prevent injuries. Bry’s Health and Safety Team submitted the nomination to NSC to highlight bry’s safety journey and share the 2020 project focused on reducing exposure to hydrogen sulfide (or H2S) gas on bry properties. The nomination included an outline of the project, including a collection of exposure data through a “report everything” strategy, the challenges the team faced, and the result: an 80% reduction in the number of H2S exposures in the project locations.
“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees, their families, our business partners, and the communities we serve. I commend the Health and Safety and Operations teams for their steadfast commitment to protecting each one of our 342 employees,” said Trem Smith, bry Chairman and CEO. “We are honored to be among the finalists for this award, and we look forward to continuing our safety journey.”
Winners in each category will be announced on Monday, October 11, 2021. Visit nsc.org/awards for more information.
